Blueberry Recipes

One of the things I most look forward to in the summer is picking blueberries. As a kid, I got a taste of the good old farm life when my mom would take us out to a pick-your-own farm and let us gather up buckets of the candy-like fruit. Now, my daughters and I go on our own adventure. At the end of July we ventured out to the fields and picked enough blueberries to make pies, cobblers and simply eat by the handful!

Luckily, we had enough left over after our baking projects to freeze for the upcoming months. One tip I learned from the farmer where we picked the blueberries this year is to leave the berries unwashed before putting in the freezer. This lets each blueberry freeze on its own and preserves flavor. Say hello to blueberries in the fall!
