Crayon Art Project

There is no way I could resist posting this project inspiration for you. If you make the awesome Crayon Wreath (via The Ballard Bunch), then this would just be icing on the cake…

The best part is that it’s easy to make! Here’s what you do to make this crazy cool wall art: Simply hot glue a big box of crayons along the top of a canvas and use a hair dryer to melt them into the beautiful drips you see here.

The girls and I are going to make one for our art room. Kinda fun, huh?

  1. I just made one for my art room but it doesn’t look as good as this one. mine is more drippy and stripy rather than solid. still nice but not the same.

I tried this with a cheap box of $ store crayons and after holding the blow dryer for well over 5 minutes on one spot- the only thing that had dripped was a little clear wax, the crayons were soft but definitely not going to drip. Hmm, wonder if it only works with better quality like Crayola.

I was just showing this to my husband and telling him how much I want to do this for our basement for the kids. He asked a question that I had not thought of…..how do you keep the glue from heating up and the crayons falling off?
